How to Prepare for Expositions
Expositions is NOT like any other career fair you’ve attended. At Expositions, the focus is on you, the student and prospective employee. Here’s how it works:
Register and reserve a one-hour time slot. On the day of the fair, you’ll be assigned to a table. Employers will walk around the room, looking for promising employees. Your name tag will identify your major, but other than that, it’s up to you to get their attention.
Think about what makes you stand out from the crowd. Why will they want to come talk to you? Use the table as your “booth”. This is your real estate to showcase your talents. We encourage you to bring examples of your work to show what you can do. Examples: bring your research papers; design a PowerPoint presentation highlighting your work and abilities; share a project you completed (must fit on a small table). Bring copies of your resume!
After one hour, the table will rotate to another student. The employers will stay in the room.
